This easter egg bunting uses a fun (and messy!) spatter paint technique to create a beautiful speckled pattern that looks just like eggs you might find in the wild!

You can use muted shades of bronze, gold and white on pastel cardstocks or go wild with neon pinks, electric blues and bright yellows – let your kids loose with the colours and see what beautiful colour combinations they can create.

How to Make

Take your paints and decide which combination of colours you would like to use for each cardstock sheet. Pour a small amount of each colour into a separate container and water each colour down slightly with some water until the paint has a runny consistency.

Coat your brush with the paint and hold the brush with the flat edge facing vertically, above your sheet of cardstock. Tap the side of the brush with the edge of you hand or flick your wrist slightly to release the paint. Change colour, continuing to spatter the paint until you are happy with the coverage.

When the paint has dried, draw as many eggs as you can fit onto each sheet of cardstock, using the egg template from the printable PDF to trace around. Alternatively, cut the eggs from your sheets using a cutting machine, by uploading the egg SVG file to your cutting machine software.

Thread the eggs onto a piece of ribbon, ensuring the bulk of the ribbon is behind the egg cut outs.

Pin each end of the ribbon from your finished bunting to the wall or surface you are displaying the bunting, and admire your handiwork!
